Spider Solitaire: play free online with 1, 2 or 4 suits
Spider Solitaire is one of the most loved solitaire games from the computer era. Here you play with big, clear cards that are easy to read on a tablet, phone or computer. You choose whether to play with 1, 2 or 4 suits. There is no sign up and no time pressure, and the game remembers where you left off.
How to play
- Spider uses two decks, 104 cards in all. The cards are dealt into ten columns, and the rest wait in the stock in the top right corner.
- The goal is to build complete runs from king down to ace in the same suit. When a run is complete, it is cleared away automatically. You win when all eight runs are cleared.
- You can place a card on any card one rank higher, no matter the suit. So a 7 can go on any 8.
- Several cards can only move together if they are the same suit and in descending order.
- Tap a card and it moves to the best spot by itself, taking the cards on top with it. You can also drag cards with your finger or mouse.
- A face down card turns over automatically when it is uncovered. An empty column can take any card.
- When you are stuck, tap Deal to add one new card to every column. You can only deal when no column is empty.
Tips for Spider Solitaire
- Turn over hidden cards as early as you can.
- Build in the same suit whenever possible, so the cards can move together later.
- An empty column is worth gold. Use it to sort out a tangled pile, then fill it again.
Frequently asked questions
How many suits should I play with in Spider Solitaire?
Start with 1 suit. All cards are spades, so it is only about the numbers. With 2 suits you play with spades and hearts, which takes more planning. 4 suits is the hard version that most people try once they know the game well. You choose under New game.
Why can't I deal new cards?
Under the classic rules, all ten columns must have at least one card before you can deal. Put a card in the empty column and Deal works again. The stock can be dealt five times in total.
Is every Spider Solitaire game winnable?
Not every one, but with 1 suit almost all games can be won with a little patience. Undo has no limit, so you can always go back and try another way. Hint shows a possible move if you get stuck.
What is the daily Spider Solitaire deal?
The daily deal is the same shuffle for everyone who plays that day, and it changes at midnight. Pick it under New game and compare your number of moves with family and friends.
Is this Spider Solitaire free to play?
Yes. It is completely free, with no download and no account. Your statistics are saved only on your own device.
