City Roll: A Free Rolling Ball Game in the Big City

City Roll is a ball rolling game where a shiny marble rolls along a floating track high up between the skyscrapers. The track twists like a roller coaster, with loops, spirals, bridges between towers and tunnels right through the buildings. It is evening, the windows are glowing, and far below the yellow cabs drive through the streets. You only steer left and right, and the goal is to keep the ball on the track for as long as you can. It is a free action game you can play online, with no sign-up and no ads in the game.

How to play

  1. Tap the game or press the space bar to start. The ball starts rolling on its own.
  2. Steer with the arrow keys or A and D. On a phone or tablet, hold your finger on the left or right half of the screen.
  3. Keep the ball on the track through curves, hills and narrow sections.
  4. Avoid holes and the colored blocks. Some blocks slide back and forth, so wait for the right moment.
  5. Roll up the yellow ramps to jump over a hole. In loops and spirals, the railings keep the ball on the track.
  6. The run ends when the ball falls off or hits a block. Tap Try again and beat your record.

Tips for a long run

  • Start with Easy. The track is wider and the speed builds up more slowly.
  • Look far ahead. That gives you time to line up the ball before the curve arrives.
  • Use short taps. The ball keeps sliding a little after you let go.
  • Lean into the curves. Speed pushes the ball outward, so steer a little toward the middle before the curve.
  • Try the daily track and compare your distance with family and friends.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the most points?

Your score is the distance you roll, measured in meters. The longer you keep the ball on the track, the more meters you get. The speed keeps rising, so every meter is a little harder than the one before. After a few hundred meters, the first loops and spirals show up.

What is the difference between Easy, Normal and Hard?

Easy has a lower speed and a wider track, which is great for beginners. Normal is the classic run. Hard starts fast on a narrow track with more obstacles. Your record is saved separately for each difficulty.

What is the daily track?

The daily track is the same for everyone who plays that day, and it changes at midnight. Pick it under New game. That way you can compete on exactly the same stretch.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. City Roll works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. Hold the left or right side of the screen to steer. Full screen gives you the biggest play area, and A+ and A++ make text and buttons larger.
