Klondike Solitaire: play free online with big cards
Klondike is the classic solitaire card game that millions of people know from the kitchen table and from their very first computer. Here the cards are big and clear, so you can relax and play on a tablet, phone or computer. There is no sign up and no time pressure, and the game remembers where you left off.
How to play
- The goal is to move all 52 cards to the four foundations in the top right corner. Each foundation holds one suit, built up from ace to king.
- The tableau below has seven piles. Here you stack cards in descending order and alternating colors, for example a black 9 on a red 10.
- Tap a card and it jumps to the best spot by itself. If it can go to a foundation, it goes there first. You can also drag cards with your finger or mouse.
- When you move the last face up card off a pile, the card underneath turns over automatically.
- Only a king (with any cards stacked on it) can fill an empty spot in the tableau.
- Tap the stock pile in the top left corner to turn over new cards. When it runs out, tap "Redeal" to go through the pile again. You can do that as many times as you like.
- Stuck? Tap Hint. Undo has no limit. Once every card is face up, tap "Finish it" to send the rest home.
Tips for winning more games
- Turn over the face down cards in the tableau as early as you can. Start with the tallest piles.
- Do not empty a column unless you have a king ready to move into it.
- Do not rush low cards to the foundations if you still need them to hold a red or black sequence together.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between draw 1 and draw 3 solitaire?
In draw 1 you turn over one card at a time from the stock, so every card is reachable on each pass. It is the relaxed version. In draw 3 you turn over three cards at a time and only the top one can be played, which makes the game harder because some cards stay hidden longer. You choose under New game.
Can every game of Klondike Solitaire be won?
No. Some deals cannot be solved no matter how well you play. With draw 1 and unlimited passes through the stock, though, most games can be won with a little planning. Use Undo freely to try a different path.
How do I move several cards at once?
Tap the lowest face up card you want to move, and all the cards on top of it come along. You can also drag that card and the whole run follows.
What is the daily solitaire deal?
The daily deal is the same shuffle for everyone who plays that day, and it changes at midnight. Pick it under New game and compare your number of moves with family and friends.
Is this Klondike Solitaire free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no download and no account. Your statistics are saved only on your own device.
